After much research, Chris managed to find a five minute clip from the "Unsolved Conspiracies" documentary that was mentioned in the Rainwood record index.
The video reveals that the Princeton Experiment, which took place at the Atlantic Test Site in the 1950s, was a government-funded attempt to recreate and summon the Egyptian god Gorr'Rylaehotep — the creature Chris and Alex had apparently been encountering for the past year. An anonymous interviewee who was present during he experiment explains in detail how they managed to summon Gorr'Rylaehotep with a portal, but the god began slaughtering scientists and soldiers, including the project director Hans Freuhauf, sparing him alone. In the final seconds of the video, a deep, distorted grumbling noise is heard.

The anonymous interviewee is believed to be Marc McComber, who was the only known survivor of the Princeton Experiment massacre.
